Solinco Juniors Shine in the 2023 USTA SoCal Sectionals
Close to 1,000 junior athletes competed in this year’s sectionals, a prestigious Level 3 tournament hosted across 7 sites throughout Southern California. The event is a high-level showdown featuring top tennis talent in all age brackets, from age 12 to 18 in both boys and girls.
Former legends who have won the tournament include Solinco’s very own Bob Bryan and the Williams sisters, and current Pro player: Taylor Fritz.
This year, the Boys competition saw two Solinco champions:
- Boys 14s – Tyler Lee (Outlast) clinched the title over Andrew Johnson (Whiteout & Tour Bite Diamond Rough) in an all-Solinco final, 6-3, 6-2.
- Boys 12s – Ryan Meis (Hyper-G) bested Kensho Ford in a close final 7-5, 7-6(4).

In every age bracket, Team Solinco competed for the trophy. Jack Cross (Hyper-G) was runner-up in Boys 18’s.
Team Solinco girls went the distance as well, with Cissy Loretta Adams (Whiteout & Hyper-G) coming in close second in the girls 12s championship.
Other notable results in the girls competition include:
- Girls 12s – Shaya Jovanovic (Hyper-G Soft) – 4th place
- Girls 14s – Reina Kim (Hyper-G) – 3rd place
- Girls 16s – Daniela Borruel (Tour Bite) – 3rd place
Another junior tournament is done and dusted, with Team Solinco once again coming out on top. With the USTA Boys National Hardcourts right around the corner, there’s no telling what our junior athletes will achieve next.
